Enjoy these scenes below of small town America from the 4th of July, 2013! Our friend, Doug, asked us if we wanted to ride in the parade on top of the double decker bus in Beaufort, NC! My mother was overjoyed—you can see her with her husband, Leon, below with Mary. Our friend, Doug, was driving the jeep in front of us. (You can see his wife, Carolyn, in the back seat throwing candy!) The crowd was a festive mix of red, white, and blue!☺

| Everyone loves to get ice cream at The General Store. It is owned by Christians, and they have a sign on the door that says, "Closed Sunday in observance of the Lord's Day." I love it! 7 sec clip below is from Doug & Carolyn's rooftop. We could see fireworks from 3 towns: Beaufort, Morehead City, and Atlantic Beach at the same time! Mary didn't go on their roof because she doesn't like the noise of fireworks! |
