This week on Juana's Blog: Steven Furtick's "Greater" & More

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend, and that you were able to be in a place to worship Sunday where Christ is lifted up.

I'm one of those strange people that actually likes Mondays! I like Mondays because I love new beginnings—we get to start a week we have never lived before.

I'm getting ready to begin a blog series on parenting, but before that—I want to shoot out a couple short blogs on what I've been reading lately.

I'll be telling you my reaction to Steven Furtick's new book, "Greater." I can't wait to tell you about it (I won an advanced copy at She Speaks, and cannot give a "formal review" since the book is the uncorrected proof version). It will be out September 4, 2012, by Multnomah Books.

I really believe God had me read that book, seeing how I was 1 of 650 in attendance that "won" an advanced copy. Are there really any coincidences with God? No! So you better believe I made time to read it.

Steven Furtick is new to me, but not new to the over 10,000 people that attend Elevation Church in one of six locations. Steven is the lead pastor there in Charlotte, NC, and founded the church with just a handful of people that dared to believe God had a greater work for them to do. Watch for that upcoming blog.

Quick commercial for our Creator. Look what I saw last week. Check out that rainbow! Look at that lone bird! Doesn't it shout God's glory? It was so bright I had to shut my eyes—my screen just looked black (that's why I don't have the top of the circle!) I wanted you to see it.

It's like God is saying to me: "I'm here. I see it all. My promises are sure and certain. I'm in control. Don't let your circumstances suck you dry. Don't lean on your own understanding. Bring it to Me. Keep looking to me. I take care of this bird. I'll take care of you. Trust me. This rainbow is a sign for you as it was in Noah's day..."

Maybe He's saying it to you.

Okay, back to what's coming up.

I also will be diving into our parenting series by telling you what we've been reading aloud at home after breakfast. Don't you love finding out about fantastic resources that inspire us to lead greater lives for Christ?

And lastly, I have not yet told you what I learned from attending my first She Speaks Conference. That's coming soon! I didn't want you to think that I forgot you.

Go with Christ, dear reader. He goes with you!
