Feeling Discontent? Try these 5 Rules for Contentment & Wednesday's Prayer Girls & LinkUp Party!

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
Philippians 4:11

Have you been feeling discontent lately? It'so easy to do when we allow our minds to feed on anything they want to. Instead, maybe these rules by E. B. Pusey could help us to keep Phillippians 4:11 in our hearts (the rules were written in the 1800s, but we can understand them very well!):

1. Allow thyself to complain of nothing, not even of the weather.
2. Never picture thyself to thyself under any circumstances in which thou art not.
3. Never compare thine own lot with that of another.
4. Never allow thyself to dwell on the wish that this or that had been, or were, otherwise that it was, or is. God Almighty loves thee better and more wisely than thou dost thyself.
5. Never dwell on the morrow. Remember that it is God's, not thine. The heaviest part of sorrow often is to look forward to it. "The Lord will provide."

  1. You ladies are the BEST! Thank you for praying that I would be sweeter & more attentive to my hubby. I am watching that prayer answered nearly everyday. I've begun asking, "What can I do to help you?" & I can tell my husband appreciates it. Now I have another similar request. Will you pray I will just listen when he tells what's troubling him, and that I will NOT try to offer solutions to fix it (this is very hard for me & I truly am asking for your prayer in this). He just wants me to listen. THANK YOU! What can I pray for you?

  6. Yes, dear one, right now! Heavenly Father, You know by name the name of this young man or boy and exactly where he attends school. Nothing catches you by surprise, Lord. We ask that you keep Your watchful eye on him, for his safety at school. In Jesus's name, Amen.
