Graduation & Wednesday's Prayer Girls & LinkUp Party!

Isn't it so exciting when there's a graduation in the family? Congratulations if you just had a child to graduate or one coming up next month! Our son, John, just graduated on Mother's Day from college. Yay!! {confetti} Woo-hoo! He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. So that makes two down for us, two to go! It is such a privilege to get to go to college, and such an accomplishment to graduate.

Oh how fast the years go by! I can close my eyes and see John in his car pajamas! Oh, the high calling of motherhood! Lord, teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12).

The guest of honor, John, is in the back row center, but the sun washes him out.
We celebrated a wonderful Mother's Day night with family on our back porch after John graduated.
I was good exhausted!

  1. Thank you for praying that God would guide John to the job that God would have for him. We also are selling a summer house on the NC coast and are praying for the right buyer to come along! What can I pray for you?

  2. Juana, congrats to your son graduating college. I would appreciate prayer for our son Jonathan who is back in the states, we sure miss him. He writes his own Christian music lyrics but does not know how to write music. There are some possibilities in our own church that someone can help him. Praying for God's leading.

    1. Hi Ann! I've been thinking of you! I bet you do miss your son. What an honor to pray for your son. Let's pray right now. Heavenly Father, We love you! We praise you for your Omniprescence that allows you to be with Ann all the way on one side of the world while still being with her son halfway around the world again. Lord, how wonderful that he writes to honor You. You know he knows the writing part, but needs help to put it to music. Lord, send him help perhaps right there in their own church. Guide him Lord in your way. Your ways are not our ways. All of our trust is in You, Amen.

  4. Prayers for both of my HS sons (11th & 9th) as they finish exams these next few days. Specifically for both of their Algebra exams. Also for our 21yo son who is looking for a host family in Huntsville, AL (about 2 hours N of Birmingham) as he will be moving there this Summer to go to school. He does not need to live alone as he deals with depression and needs to have someone that can keep eyes on him. For our oldest son and his wife as they enter the last month before their baby girl is born next month.
Prayers for me tomorrow as I have sinus surgery, nothing serious, but need a quick and as painless as possible recovery.

    1. Hi sweet Jana! Let's pray for your sons and you! Dear Lord, we lift up Jana's high school aged sons now as they are in their Algebra exams. Help them to study hard and be able to focus and do well. We ask that You give them good rest each night before, Lord. We pray for a host home for Jana's son going to summer school, and for your guiding hand on his depression. For Jana's oldest son and his wife, we pray for good health for the wife and a good time of closeness with her hubby as they await the arrival of their first child. We pray that Jana is healing even this moment as she had her sinus surgery today. May she heal well. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

    1. Thank you, Holly! It was exciting, I almost included a clip of the 2730 (I think they said) graduates in the stands in the blog post but thought I was the only one who wanted to see that again! To see all those 22 year olds in the prime of their life on the brink of so many possibilities was exciting! Mighty grateful my son was just one of them:-)

    1. Oh, Cathy, (the mom that looks like she should be having little toddlers!) baby graduating from high school? Oh my! Such an exciting time. Loving Lord, we lift up Cathy's youngest child to you at this very moment. You know the plans You have for her, and they are plans for her life to go well. Lord, we trust You to show her just what you would have her to do next. We thank You for her life, and for You being in her life, and in the life of her dear mother. In Jesus's name, Amen.
