Prayer for Your Husband, Bloggy Break & 3 Christian Books Giveaway!

After praying the below prayer for my husband this morning, it occurred to me that other wives might want what I prayed too! (I have been critical of my hubby lately and God reminded me of this prayer today in my quiet time. It is harder to be critical when we are praying for our husbands. Ugh! Don't copy me in the criticism; copy me by repenting and praying the prayer for our husbands below!)

I have confessed my criticism to the Lord, received His forgiveness and moved on! God has given me a huge blessing in my husband, and a critical spirit does not reflect a thankful heart! (BTW, my husband just likes action over words so hopefully my actions will reflect my repentant heart )

I love giving you what others have given me, and normally that is gold nuggets of wisdom from older women in my life that I tuck inside my blog. Like most things I give out, today' s prayer for your husband it is not original with me, but I have permission to give it out. I substituted my husband's name in the prayer. You can write it out on a card, and insert your hubby's name.

Keep it where you are likely to pray for him. I have done it different ways. At one time, I had all my prayers pinned up on the wall where I prayed (I did that for 10 years in our old house; it was my favorite method by far. I would go in that closet with a small lamp I put in there, and close the door and pray.) Now I keep my prayers in a simple prayer folder with my Bible and I pray immediately after I have read my Bible for the day (I miss some days and it is to my great loss!).

Okay, here's the prayer, you will LOVE it :
Lord Jesus Christ, I invoke Your power and Your Spirit upon Terry. Lord, I pray righteousness and purity and holiness upon him. Lord I pray that You will heal all of his scars, that You will mend up all of those things that keep him from becoming the man that he desires to be and that You call him to be. Lord God I pray that you will breathe excitement into him. That you will bring about in Terry a hope for the future. I pray that I will have favor with Him. I pray that he will see me and his heart will rejoice and his spirit will soar when I come into the room. Lord Jesus Christ I thank You for this man. Thank You for the treasure that He is. I thank You that he loves You more than me. I pray Lord that You will minister to Him and build a hedge of protection around him today. Lord Jesus we need You. All of our hope is in You. Amen.

I’m taking a short blogging break from now until the end of February. Many of you know that my first book, Don't Dump Him: Keep Your Husband in a Throwaway World,  is coming out in January 2015, and my final edits are due March 1. My wise, level-headed hubby sweetly reminded me that I cannot blog and write the edits, too. I will still be continuing with the Wednesday Blog LinkUp Party during my blog break so you can link up your beautiful blogs, and we can keep up with what you wonderful Christian bloggers have been writing. Psssssssst! I'll be popping in to give away Christian books at the Wednesday LinkUp Parties during my blog break!
I will still be posting on all my other social media platforms -

You may follow my blog here or on Bloglovin'.
So please – follow and visit me there!

  15. Hi Juana! First, I LOVE that prayer. I cried when I prayed it, and I'm writing in on an index card! Since I stopped working to stay home with the kids, my husband has been working doubly hard to support us. Most days he's great with that, but I think some days he gets discouraged. I've been praying for him, but this prayer said exactly what I feel like the groanings of my spirit was trying to say!

Also, I'd love to win books! :) I shared on facebook, too (don't have twitter).

    1. Hi Ann! You are the first person whose name will be in the hat 4 times. Thank you for sharing! I love your heart for the Lord & to keep Him the center of your marriage. I just got back from eating lunch with my hubby at Costco. When my husband called this morn with the idea, I felt I had a lot to do but Christ in me said, "GO! Your husband wants to be with you! GO! Die to your way & say YES to My way." We had fun & laughed a bunch. We need Jesus to show us how to live!!!!
