“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” ~ Luke 9:23
Mike Mason, author of The Mystery of Marriage, likened marriage to an oak tree standing in the living room. On his honeymoon he was filled with the terrifying idea of the giving up of his privacy forever and thought he had made a grave mistake.
I can totally identify with Mr. Mason. When you are married, it’s like the oak tree is always there—no matter what you do.

DeleteSo much going on that needs prayer. It would be too long for me to list it all. But please do not stop praying for Wayne and friends housing situation.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Jana! Heavenly Father, we praise and thank you that you've provide things like computers that bring us together with other like-minded people to pray. We love you. Lord, we lift up Wayne in what looks like he's nearing being with your face-to-face. Lord, we still ask you for his healing but if not, may he be comforted now in his assurance that it is far better to be with you where this is no sickness or tears. Guide all who care for him how to minister to him and may he continually be nourished in his body, and in his spiritual man. We also ask for housing for Jana's friends. In Christ's blessed name we pray, Amen.
DeleteThanks Juana & praise be to God!
DeleteJust read your post over at The Alabaster Jar, sweet friend! Soooo good! My favorite quote was “To take up the cross of Christ is no great action done once for all; it consists in the continual practice of small duties which are distasteful to us.” This is so hard for my selfish self but I pray & know I'm certainly better at it than I used to be! Grace, grace!
ReplyDeleteHi Em! Thank you so much for reading it:-) May the Lord pour His grace on us abundantly as we seek to live for Him, Emily in everything we do, are, have, and suffer! No greater field for self-denial than in our roles as wives, for sure!
DeleteYour profile pic is beautiful just like you are!
