Memorial Day, Spring Fever & Wednesday's Prayer Girls & Link-Up!

I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend for all of you that live in the USA!  This weekend, I continued reading "Left for Dead," about the sinking of the USS Indianapolis in World War II, and it made me think about our military that put themselves in harm's way to protect freedom around the world.

The ship with nearly 1200 men aboard was struck by two torpedoes from a Japanese submarine, and in the end, only about 150 men survived after floating at sea for days as sharks encircled them. For some, it was their faith that they clung to as they floated at sea. I cannot imagine what families have suffered as their young sons, husbands, and brothers have died as they have faithfully served our country. Oh dear God, our eyes are on You! Oh, Lord, You are near to the brokenhearted!

I saw this flag last year in Easton, Maryland and knew you would like it, too.

I have been struck with a huge case of spring fever! I wish you could smell the jasmine that is blooming over our garage door! It beckons me outside—saying "come out and play!" It is so divine! Isn't it wonderful how nature obeys him perfectly? The jasmine obeys him perfectly by giving off its fresh, sweet scent!

Don't you think that's what God says to us each day? Not "come out and play," (although, why not?) I meant more that He beckons us to spend time with Him. He calls to us ... by name! "Juana, stop what you're doing, and sit here with Me. Just relish in my presence, thinking about my character and how I love you totally unconditionally."

Our Lord also loves for us to pray! To simply converse with Him! It is my joy on Wednesdays to pray for you. Please leave your non-confidential prayer request in the comments, and I will pray for you. I have left the first one, you are next!

I also host a blog hop on Wednesdays for a time for bloggers to share their blog links! I'd love for you bloggers to share what your God-honoring passions are from marriage to parenting to cooking to gardening to organization to anything that honors God that you are passionate about. I did one, and you are next!

  1. On Wednesday, the local NBC station is coming to film our daughter, Mary! Please pray that God's will be done, and that He will be honored in Mary's life. Please also pray for an extended family member who is suffering, & for God's perfect will in the trial & for how I can minister.

    1. I will keep your sweet Mary in prayer believing the Lord for His will to be done and for Him to be glorified in all that is said and done with this film about your daughter.

Also, keeping your extended family member in prayer as well. We serve a God of the Impossible!

    1. Hi Val! It went great, but please pray for them as they edit it! I had no idea that they also wanted to interview me! Pray it will share the light of Christ!

  3. Wonderful thoughts, Juana. I actually like the thought of God saying "come out and play" : )
I pray for your daughter's NBC film....how exciting. And I pray that God will give you wisdom for this suffering family member.
I would appreciate prayer for my health. My ENT doctor says I have suffered acute hearing loss since January and none of the tests show any reason for this problem.
Just found your site. Thanks for the link up.
    Bless you,
    Gail

  4. I love the jasmine, have some by my mailbox. Question: How do you get it to grow over your garage door? Would like to have it grow up a wall. Prayers for me as two weeks a go I clearly heard God tell me that He has called me. Now to what I have no idea. The conversation went like this: God: "Jana, I am calling you." Me: "But I am too selfish for you to use me."
God: "But I am calling you, I will give you what you need." The argument from me continued for a while, and still continues. My husband tells me that I should not tell others my ideas, because they will take it as being pushy. So while I have no idea to what exactly God has called me, He has given me several ideas. But I don't know where to start or who to start with, out of fear of being considered pushy. Also am a bit stressed about $ right now. Need some peace please.

    1. Hi Jana! My husband "trains" it with a thin wire. Every so often he gets up on the ladder and twists the vines a bit on the wire, but not much. It starts moving down the wire as it grows with a little prodding from him.

Dear Lord, I want to lift up Jana to you. Give her your peace, Lord. You know her needs even before she asks. Help her to trust you with their finances. Help her to know her security lies totally in You. Guide her where You want her Lord. She doesn't know what to do, but help her keep her eyes on You. We know that we are faithless Lord, but You are faithful. It is amazing that you choose to allow us, redeemed sinners, to cooperate with You in the working out of Your will. Thank you! Thank you for letting us participate with You. Amen.
