What Paul Prayed for Others

Last time we got together, I gave you a daily list of how I pray for my children. I should have told you that sometimes I miss a day. Sometimes I miss a lot of days. I really like having a list because it is always really simple to get back on track.

We can always start fresh on any given day. His mercies are new every morning, right? We all need to remember that there is no condemnation in Christ.

I love giving out to you what I've learned (mostly from others—not much is original with me). I give them out to you not to make you feel bad if you have not been praying for your child, but to encourage you to pray regularly for them.

Lord knows that I'm a mess and am walking right along beside you trusting in our perfect Savior. If only you knew. I need Him every hour. I love the line in "Be Thou My Vision" that says: (I just put it on after typing this, it's playing right now...)

Thou my best thought by night or by day. (He is my best thought!)
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my wisdom!

Okay, I just turned it off, I can't listen and write you!

I promised you last time to give you some more prayers that I have in my folder that I pray regularly for my family.

I like praying these prayers that I listed below during the week for my family too, so I'm not just praying for food and safety and jobs which is about all I can come up with on my own (material stuff). We can pray for that, but why not pray for so much more?

Praying for Others
What Paul Prayed when He Prayed

Wisdom and Power - Ephesians 1:18-19

Strength in the Inner Man - Ephesians 3:16-19

Discernment - Philippians 1:9-11

Knowledge of the Will of God - Colossians 1:9

Growing Love for One Another - 1 Thessalonians 3:10-13

Worthy of Their Calling - 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Comforted and Established - 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Be Steadfast in Their Love for God - 2 Thessalonians 3:5

Live a Quite and Peaceable Life - 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Recognize All They Have in Christ - Philemon 1:6

God Would Work in Them That Good Will Which is Pleasing Unto Him - Hebrews 13:20-21

You know what you might want to do?

Next time you are alone, try taking out this list, and praying it aloud with the name of someone you love. You will be praying that they grow spiritually and you will know that you are saying exactly the prayer that was in the Bible for your loved one! Have FUN prayingfor God answers prayer!

Walk by Faith,

  2. That's so funny you can't listen to music and write at the same time. I can't either! But I'm trying to train myself to be able to do that so I've spent the past couple hours listening to Hillsong while writing. I don't know if I'll be able to do that all the time but I'm going to try to do that the last couple hours of each work day and see if I can't change that :).
